"This book gives an excellent range of advice and references... Written in a way that makes it ideal to just dip into when you have a problem or question that needs to be quickly answered but at the same time equally good for a sit down with coffee when you get one of those rare moments for relaxation."

Denise, Registered Childminder:

"Wow the second edition really is bang up to date and is now over 300 pages long. The authors have gone to great lengths to research the new Early Years Foundation Stage which will become mandatory for all childminders to follow from the 1st September 2008. I've been childminding for over 17 years and still found this book extremely useful and as the chair of my county childminding association and owner of "UK Registered Childminders" a chat group on yahoo I shall be recommending this book to ALL registered childminders whether they are newly registered or have been childminding for a number of years.

"The whole book is written it a very clear unstuffy format, which makes it a pleasure to read and so easy to revisit when you need information, advice or clarification on any number of subjects relating to your work as a registered childminder.

"Honestly I can't rate this book highly enough go it will be money very well spent."

Amanda Reeves, Registered Childminder:

"This book is fab! Unlike all the other books on the market this is the only one that offers useful and practical step by step instructions for everyday childminding dilemmas. No matter how long you have been childminding for, this book is the fountain of knowledge that you will refer to again and again."

"This book is truly inspirational, As a childminder for the past 13 years I found this book to be a valuable source of up to date information and advice. It is written in an easy to understand format for childminders that are starting up and those already experienced. It's like my bible. You won't be dissapointed."

Jacqui White, Registered Childminder:

"As a Registered Childminder myself, I found this book to offer wide-ranging support and guidance to both new and experienced childminders. It is full of important information, with helpful tips along the way. I have recommended it to my local Childrens Information Service, and am hopeful that they will place a piece in the next newsletter. It is an ideal book to reference on an "as and when" basis - covering each aspect of childminding from setting-up onwards. it is also a great plus that it has been written by people who know what they are doing from experience, and keep themselves up-to-date with current legislation. I have to say, I would advise every Childminder to have a copy of this book, whether they have been minding 4 days to 40 years+. "

Childminding Help, March 2008:

"From starting out and becoming a registered childminder right through to supporting children with secial needs this book gives an excellent range of advice and references. The business side of childminding and record keeping is well covered as is observations, assessment and evaluation plus many other areas just too numerous to mention.

"Written in a way that makes it ideal to just dip into when you have a problem or question that needs to be quickly answered but at the same time equally good for a sit down with coffee when you get one of those rare moments for relaxation."

M. Delve, Registered Childminder:

"This book is written by people who know what they are talking about as they are experienced professional childminders themselves. It tells the reader everything they need to know about this profession and is an excellent resource for those considering the profession, who are new to it or are experienced in the field. I can't think of anything that has been missed out and best of all it is as up-to-date as it can be. Well done to Tunja and Tamsin! If you only buy one childminding book, buy this one - it is worth every penny. "

Registered Childminder:

"This is an absolute goldmine of information ... Best of all, this book was actually written by practicing childminders who know what they are talking about! No more being confused with nursery provision."
